Tributes paid to ‘lovely young lad with great character” following passing on New Year’s Day

Tributes have been flooding in upon news of the passing of young Sion Mills man, Martin Love on New Year’s day.

Martin had been a trainee with Strabane-based training organisation – 21 Training – who have today (Tuesday January 3) taken to social media to share their condolences: “Heartfelt condolences to the Love family at this very sad and difficult time on the passing of their son and brother Martin.

“Martin was one of our trainees and was a lovely young lad with great character and was always well mannered. Martin will be deeply missed by all of the staff and trainees at 21 Training”.

Similar sentiments were shared by some of Martin’s trainers, one of whom stated: “Heartbroken to hear of the passing of one of our young trainees.

“Martin was such a lovely lad and a pleasure to have in class. Deepest condolences to his family and friends, I will miss listening to his footie talk and his love of Celtic. I hope they do you justice today”.

Another said: “Heartbreaking to hear of the loss of one of my students! Martin was a pleasure to have and will be sorely missed by myself and the rest of the team at 21 Training. My heart goes out to Martin’s family at this time”.

Martin was the much loved son of Pauline and James, a dearly loved brother of Elma, Sinead, Gayle and James, beloved grandson of Frances and the late George Love and of Rosaleen and the late Seamus McGeehan.

Martin’s funeral is due to take place Wednesday January 4, with funeral leaving his home at 10.30am for Requiem Mass in St. Theresa’s Church, Sion Mills at 11am.

Interment will follow afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The family have kindly requested family time from 11pm to 11am.
