St. Patrick’s Academy pupils represent Tyrone in Texaco Art Competition Top 15

A big congratulations to St. Patrick’s Academy, Dungannon pupils Farragh McGeary in Year 9 and Maria Donaghy in Year 14 on making the top 15 in their age category for this year’s Texaco Art Competition.

They were the only two prize winners from Co. Tyrone.

Farragh attended the award ceremony on October 27 at The Strule Arts Centre in Omagh, where the exhibition has been running from Thursday October 27 and will continue in display until Saturday November 26, 2022.

The exhibition was officially opened by Dr Denise Ferron, past president of RUA and one of the competition judges.

Other guest speakers included Councillor Barry McElduff, Chair of Omagh and Fermanagh District Council and Bronagh Carron, Marketing and Loyalty Manager of Valero Energy.

This is the 68th Texaco Children’s Art Competition and the exhibition at The Strule Arts Centre features the top 126 award winning artworks.

There were 20,000 entries this year and as always, the standard in this competition was extremely high.

St. Patrick’s Academy have a long association with this competition and have had several prize winners over the years which was noted by competition organiser, Bronagh Carron.
