Funeral details released for three members of same family killed in Co Tyrone crash

The funeral details have been released for three members of the same family who died following a devastating crash on the Tullyvar Road near Aughnacloy on Thursday. 

The deceased have been named as brother and sister Dan McKane and Christine Duffy both from the Strabane area and their aunt Julia McSorley who lived in Newtownstewart.

The crash which happened shortly after 7am also left four other members of their extended family requiring hospital treatment.

Julie, the siblings aunt will be the first to be laid to rest with a funeral to take place tomorrow (Sunday April 30), leaving her late residence, 1 Avery Park, Newtownstewart, at 10.45am for 11.30am Requiem Mass at St. Eugene’s Church, Glenock, with Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

An online funeral notice describes Julie as the beloved wife of Patsy and the much-loved mother of Patsy, Maria, Shane, Colin and Julie, dear sister of Ina and the late Mary, Anne, Danny, Don, Margaret and Bridie R.I.P.

Siblings Dan and Christine will be laid to rest on Monday following a joint service in The Church of The Immaculate Conception, Strabane.

An online funeral notice describes Dan as a much loved father of Cara and Ruth, loving brother of Mary, William, Julie, Ina, Colette and the late Margaret-Rose and Christine, cherished son of the late Detta and Danny.

Dan and Christine remains will be reposing at 29 Innisfree Gardens, Strabane on Saturday April 29, from 5:30 p.m with a joint funeral set to take place from there on Monday May 1, at 11.15 a.m for Requiem Mass at 12 noon in The Church of The Immaculate Conception, Strabane. Interment will be afterwards in Strabane Cemetery.

Christine, who is late of 21, Innisfree Gardens, Strabane was a much loved mother of Nicole, Gary and Danny, doting granny of Danny and Róise, loving sister of Mary, William, Julie, Ina, Colette and the late Margaret-Rose and Dan, cherished daughter of the late Detta and Danny.
