Woman in hospital after being rescued from late night house fire

Police said an officer assisted with administering First Aid after the woman had been removed from the property

A woman has been taken to hospital after being rescued from a house fire in Dungannon.

The incident happened in the Annaghbeg Road, close to the Tamnamore Roundabout, last night (Monday).

The fire was reported to PSNI shortly after 10.20pm and police and emergency crews raced to the scene and the woman was taken to safety.

Police said an officer assisted with administering First Aid after the woman had been removed from the property.

The sole occupant of the house was taken to hospital and remains there this morning (Tuesday).

Inspector Stickland said: “Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who helped at the scene last night.

“Our enquiries into what occurred continue and anyone with information is asked to call us on 101, and quote reference number 1944 of 19/10/20.”
