Part of a prominent town centre retail unit in Dungannon is to be converted into apartments.
The unit at 17 William Street has had various tenants over the years, including The Original Factory Shop.
The three-storey building, on a prime corner location, could now be partially redeveloped as a block of apartments.
It will if an application to Mid-Ulster District Council gets the go-ahead.
Submitted by Landmark Homes (NI), the applicant is seeking a change of use for the first and second floors of the building.
Described currently as “shop and offices” on the submission to council, the hope is for change of first floor retail use and second floor office suite to apartments.
In all 10 two-bedroom apartments would be created, as well as a single one-bedroom apartment.
The proposals show that the ground floor will remain as a shop and storage purposes.
According to CIS, the plans would represent an investment in excess of £600,000.
The development will have a flat roof which will provide a common amenity space for tenants of the apartments.
A decision expected in due course.
