Cyclist’s brush with death in Stewartstown as police appeal for car racers to come forward

A cyclist was lucky to avoid a potentially fatal collision as two cars raced along a road in Stewartstown on Wednesday evening.

Police have appealed for the culprits to come forward and have also asked the public for their help.

The cars involved were a navy blue BMW and a red BMW who police say were engaged in a race with each other on the Ballygittle Road at approximately 8.45pm.

The red BMW lost control going around a bend and as a result a male cyclist has had to take evasive action to avoid getting struck.
