Mid Ulster District Council held a Civic Reception on Tuesday May 17, to recognise fourteen outstanding achievements across the district in the fields of sport, heritage, business and music.

The ceremony took place at the Burnavon, Cookstown, and was hosted by the Chair of the Council, Councillor Paul McLean.

Speaking at the awards ceremony Councillor Paul McLean said “Tonight we take the opportunity to reflect back on success accomplished by many talented groups and individuals across Mid Ulster, with a packed programme of excellence in the fields of sport, heritage, business and music.

“Most notably the majority of our awards this evening are to recognise the vast sporting success and ability we have here in Mid Ulster. Our district is certainly not short of its talented athletes and dedicated sports stars, and it’s a great pleasure to celebrate your success through events like this one.”
