Curran, John, August 27, 2021. The wife, Breda, children Kenny (Edele), Catriona (John McElholm), Chris (Maria), Ciaran (Siobhan), Conal (Sharon), Carl (Komal) and Caoimhe (Tommy Cunningham) and the 20 grandchildren of the late John Curran, Loughmacrory, wish to express our heartfelt thanks to the extended family circle, kind neighbours and friends who supported us during our recent sad bereavement.
Thanks to all the staff of Carrickmore Health Centre, Harte’s Chemist, the District nursing team in Beragh, Rapid Response nurses, Marie Curie nurses and all the doctors and nurses who looked after John during his illness. Thanks to John’s niece Mary Garvin and his carer Sharon Curran for all their care and support.
A special word of thanks to Loughmacrory St Teresa’s GFC and GAA Handball Club for all their help with wake and funeral arrangements. We are very appreciative of all those who called at the house, sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, letters, messages on social media, telephoned, sent floral tributes and helped around our home. We appreciate the strength gained from your constant presence. We were also touched by the kindness and generosity of those who brought food to the house during this time. Thanks to those who generously donated to Marie Curie.
Sincere thanks to all those who travelled near and far to be with us at the wake and funeral and to those who lined the route on the day of the funeral especially for the guards of honour from St. Teresa’s GFC, Loughmacrory handball club, Dean Maguirc College, St. Teresa’s PS and St. Patrick’s PS Gortin and to all who attended the Funeral or joined via webcam.
A special word of thanks to Fr Sean O’Neill and Fr Mickey Martin for celebrating the Requiem Mass, in memory of John. Thank you to them both as well as Fr Thomas Mallon, Fr John Forbes, Fr Eddie Gallagher and Fr Michael McCullagh for their spiritual support. Thank you to Eamon Donnelly, Margaret Mullan, Noelle Toner and the Loughmacrory choir who provided the beautiful music and singing, the Church sacristan Charlie, Eucharistic Ministers, Graveside musicians Tony, Conal and Moira and to those who prepared the grave.
We express our sincere appreciation to Jimmy and Ryan from FMC Funeral Directors for their professionalism and the considerate and dignified way they carried out the funeral arrangements.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our heartfelt thanks and gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
John’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Friday September 24, at 7pm in St. Mary’s Church, Loughmacrory and will streamed online.
