Acknowledgement for the late Jimmy Devlin (Cookstown)

The family of the late Jimmy Devlin (Liverpool Jim) would like to thank all family, friends, neighbours and members of Jimmy’s beloved community in Cookstown and beyond for their care and compassion following his passing on January 1, 2021. To those who phoned and sent cards, flowers or messages, who generously donated to the Hub in his name, who stood out to see him off from Coolnafranky, who attended and tuned in from abroad to watch his burial mass and who supported the family throughout; a heartfelt thank you.

Our endless gratitude to the staff at Antrim Area Hospital, Craigavon Hospital, the NI ambulance service, Oaks Medical Centre, Trackars Healthcare, Boots Chemist, and the many truly special people who have cared so diligently and kindly for Jimmy under the most impossible and challenging circumstances.

To Father Slater, who conducted a beautiful and inclusive burial mass, to the staff of Lakelands Crematorium, and to Patsy Taggart and his associates for the professional and dignified services, our eternal thanks; so too to Fathers O’Neill and Boyle for their support, and to the gravedigger for helping us lay Jimmy to rest by St Mary’s and St Joseph’s Chapel, a place so dear to his heart.

The Month’s mind mass will be streamed live on the web cams of both Holy Trinity, Cookstown and Holy Family, Coalisland on Saturday January 30, 2021 at 6 p.m.
