Acknowledgement for the late Bobby Dickson (Cookstown)

Bobby’s wife Dorothy and brother Harry, wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all their friends, neighbours and relatives who sympathised with them following their recent very sad and sudden bereavement.

Sincere thanks to all who prayed for Bobby and the family, and to those who sent sympathy cards, letters, messaged, telephoned and sent floral tributes. Also to those who made donations in lieu of flowers, we are truly grateful to everyone.

Our sincere thanks to Canon Norman Porteus and Canon Drew Dawson for their pastoral care and words of comfort during Bobby’s short illness and for conducting his funeral service. To the Very Rev. Kenneth Hall (cousin) for the lovely tribute reflecting Bobby’s life. Thanks to the organist Laura McIvor and to Robert Stewart for streaming the funeral service which was greatly appreciated by family members who couldn’t attend because of travel restrictions due to the Pandemic.

We were especially touched by the kindness of neighbours and friends who lined the route (with social distancing) from Steenson Funeral Home to Derryloran Parish Church, as a mark of respect and to the various organisations who formed a guard of honour in the grounds of Derryloran and again to those along the roadside leading to Termonmaguirke Parish Church, Thank you.

Thanks to the Doctors and Nurses in Mid-Ulster Health Care, Cookstown and a very special word of thanks to the Doctors and Nurses in ICU at Antrim Area Hospital for their dedicated care and compassion to Bobby, during his short spell there, until his passing. Their daily updates on Bobby’s condition were a great comfort to Dorothy.

Sincere thanks to Bryan of Steenson Funeral Services for his professionalism and guidance, also for the dignified and caring manner in which he carried out Bobby’s funeral arrangements. Many thanks also to Ivan Woods, the gravedigger.

Last but not least, a sincere and heartfelt thank you to my niece Rebecca who was a great comfort to me throughout Bobby’s short illness.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation.

Bobby will be sorely missed by Dorothy, his brother Harry and family circle.
