McQuaid, Barney, (Castletown, Fintona, Co Tyrone) May 25, 2021. Barney passed away peacefully on the 25th of May, a widely respected, hard-working, devoted family man and much-loved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. We, his family wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement.
We have been overwhelmed by the sheer volume of mass and sympathy cards, letters and private messages we have received. We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. Thanks to those who called to the house with provisions, who telephoned, who sent Mass or sympathy cards, who wrote touching letters, sent flowers, left messages on-line or via social media and to those who lined the funeral route or who joined us via the webcam. Sincere thanks to our relatives, friends and especially Ian and Michael who helped out in so many ways, to help us grieve as a family.
A special word of thanks to Father Kevin Connolly for his spiritual support and the comforting Requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who assisted with the Mass, especially our musician Bronagh Broderick who provided the beautiful music.
Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner, in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the grave digger Tommy for preparing Barney’s final resting place.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.
Barney’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Lawrence’s Church, Fintona on Friday June 25, 2021 at 7.30pm and may be viewed via the Donacavey Parish Webcam.
